Introducing XWEEKz Takeovers, only our instagram @houdini_agora. You see, it's our platform, your vibe. We're giving artists, visionaries, activists, and more reign over our Instagram for seven days at a time. We've got a talented lineup in store already, and we're looking for more users to take over. With XWEEKz, you get the exposure you deserve. We’re not about paid promotions; we’re about promoting real, passionate art. This initiative is an extension of our commitment to community building within the HOUDINI brand.

You're an artist, not a content creator, not an influencer, but you have to post every day, because otherwise no one's going to see your art thanks our wonderful algorithmic Gods. So what are we doing? We're saying, fuck that. So, we've already got the website, the branding and we already exist outside of social media. We do well outside of social media, as a matter of fact our website pulls in nearly 5000 unique weekly visitors, all community driven, no corporate bullshit.

And what do we want to do? We want to make it so other artists don't have to spend so much of their time and energy worrying about social media. Because guess what? In this social media algorithm game, we are competing against multi-million dollar corporations who can throw an infinite amount of resources at marketing, at capturing the algorithm, at hiring people, at labor. We, as artists, typically are independent, usually one person running everything. It's not conducive to a system that allows for the small man, the everyman, the working class, to compete.

This is where HOUDINI XWEEKz takeovers come in. When someone follows our account, they're going to get art from all types of cool people. Art by the artists, not paid promotion. We're not paying to have people come promote our brand, nor are you paying us to promote yours. It's organic, it's real. We like your stuff. We want to promote your content for a reason. This is just one more step in that overarching plan of community building within the "brand" structure.

Furthermore, with the whole takeovers thing, it's deeply inspired by the Y2K, Attitude Era. We're bringing raw energy to Instagram. We're bringing realness to the social media space. We don't care about the algorithm. We're done with the algorithm. The algorithm no longer controls what we do. We're independent. We're artists. And we're all going to make it, regardless of what some black box god tells us we can do or can't do.

That's what the XWEEKz takeovers is really about. You don't need to worry about what the algorithm is doing. You don't need to think about what posts today would be good. You're an artist. Make art that you're passionate about. You're an activist, tell the stories you're passionate about. We'll handle the rest. Because we're artists and we make what we're passionate about. And we're passionate about bucking the system of corporatization that has made our world so damn artless.
